We all recognize this situation. We’re in the middle of a great golf game and suddenly the drops start coming down. We may try to dismiss it, we hope it will shortly pass but sometimes We’ll just go on playing right through the rain. Maybe you want to make the most of the day off from work and hate to waste this scarce occasion indoors. Perhaps you just don’t want to admit your wife was right when she said you shouldn’t go play since it may rain.
Whatever the case, we’ve gathered some tips to make the game more successful and go the extra mile before giving in to the weather. First off all, make sure you come prepared. Having extra towels in your bag at all times during the rain season will prove handy when trying to get a good grip with wet hands. Take into account also that on cold days your swing won’t take the ball as far as you expect compared to a warm weather day. Factor this into your swing. If you feel you need some help getting the extra yard, try using the wind in your favor and avoid going against the wind. Also, try to keep your ball warm as it will generally travel farther.
Then again, always remember, a rainy day may put a cloud on your golf plans but don’t let it ruin your vacation altogether. Take the opportunity to score more points with your wife doing something she prefers instead. You never know when you’ll want to cash these points for a round of golf on a sunny day.
