Golfing is considered far from a dangerous sport, but a tragic accident this Tuesday in San Diego proved that in any sport caution is required and nothing can be taken for granted.

Edwin Payne, 65, of Irvine was killed on. Tuesday after his golf cart went down an embankment and over a sheer cliff. Payne was thrown off the cart and onto Old Highway 395.

While officials are still investigating the accident and inspecting the cart to see whether it had any mechanical problems, witnesses claim to have seen the cart bounce as Payne was driving south from the lawn onto the path and over the curb. Apparently, at this point Payne lost control of the cart taking the plummet down the cliff.
